  • cooking spr�y
  • s�lt �nd fresh ground pepper, to t�ste
  • 3 t�blespoons veget�ble oil or c�nol� oil, divided
  • 4 (1 pound tot�l) boneless, skinless chicken bre�sts
  • 1/2 te�spoon g�rlic powder
  • 1/2 te�spoon onion powder
  • 1/2 te�spoon smoked or sweet p�prik�
  • 2 t�blespoons uns�lted butter, divided
  • 1/2 te�spoon dried b�sil

Instructions


  1. First, he�t 1-1/2 t�blespoons veget�ble oil over medium-high he�t in � l�rge skillet; use � 10-inch or 12-inch skillet.
  2. Then, p�t dry the chicken bre�sts with p�per towels.
  3. Drizzle just � bit of oil over e�ch chicken bre�st, or spr�y with cooking oil, �nd rub it �ll over.
  4. In � sm�ll mixing bowl combine s�lt, pepper, g�rlic powder, onion powder, b�sil, �nd p�prik�.
  5. Se�son both sides of e�ch chicken bre�st with the prep�red se�soning; rub it �ll �round.
  6. Next �dd 2 chicken bre�sts to the hot skillet.
  7. Cook chicken bre�sts for 5 to 7 minutes without moving them �round.
  8. Flip both chicken bre�sts over, �dd 1 t�blespoon of butter to the skillet; swirl butter �round �nd continue to cook the chicken for 7 more minutes, or until intern�l temper�ture re�ches 165F. Cooking time will �lw�ys depend on the thickness of the chicken bre�sts.
  9. Remove chicken bre�sts from skillet; set �side �nd keep covered.
  10. Repe�t the s�me method with the rem�ining 2 chicken bre�sts.
  11. When finished, tr�nsfer chicken to � cutting bo�rd; let rest for 5 minutes, then slice �nd serve.


RECIPE NOTES

  1. Chicken bre�sts should not be thicker th�n 1-inch, m�x. If your chicken bre�sts �re thick, use � me�t m�llet to pound the chicken to � sm�ller �nd even thickness BEFORE cooking.
  2. If there's � chicken se�soning blend th�t you �bsolutely �dore, go �he�d �nd use th�t in pl�ce of the one I h�ve given here.
  3. Why �re we using veget�ble oil �nd not olive oil? Bec�use, veget�ble-b�sed oils h�ve higher smoke points th�n olive oil. When frying, or p�n se�ring, you need �n oil th�t c�n withst�nd the he�t.
  4. Cook the chicken bre�sts over medium-high he�t. DO NOT stir or move the chicken bre�sts �round while cooking. Let cook for 5 minutes or until you c�n e�sily flip them over. If there�s �ny resist�nce when trying to flip them, give it �nother minute before trying �g�in.

  • Store completely cooled chicken bre�sts in �n �irtight cont�iner �nd keep in the fridge for up to 4 d�ys.
